TONEX — JS Vintage High Watt 504EH Ultimate and DI v2 Collection
A Vintage British Monster — With a Canadian Twist
 
The JS Vintage High Watt 504EH Ultimate and DI v2 Collection is based on my 1981 Hiwatt DR-504, a vintage 50-watt British amplifier with the somewhat unusual Canadian modification.
 
This amp delivers everything you would expect from a great vintage Hiwatt — huge punch, incredible clarity, massive headroom and an extremely immediate response — while the Canadian modification allows it to move into more aggressive and driven territory.
 
For the amp + cab Tone Models, I paired the DR-504 with a Celestion Heritage Greenback 20-watt speaker, an amazing match that adds the unmistakable character and response of this very special Greenback while retaining the authority and definition of the amplifier.
 
16 TONEX v2 Tone Models
 
Both the Bright and Normal channels were captured at four carefully selected gain levels, with every setting provided in two formats:
 
8 Amp + Cab Tone Models — captured through the Celestion Heritage Greenback 20-watt speaker
8 DI / Amp-Only Tone Models — for pairing with your own cabinet or IR
4 gain levels for the Bright channel
4 gain levels for the Normal channel
 
From big, articulate lower-gain sounds through increasingly driven and aggressive tones, the collection lets you explore the range of this unique vintage amplifier.
Ultimate + DI Flexibility
 
The DI models give you the raw amplifier response and maximum flexibility for use with your own cabinet solution, while the GB models capture the complete amp and speaker combination exactly as I dialed it in.
 
A custom IR is also incorporated at the preset level for the included DI preset.
 
BONUS TONEX Board Preset
For TONEX Board owners, I've also included a bonus performance-ready TONEX Board preset.
 
The preset features three Scenes, switching between two Tone Models along with a full array of effects to create a complete, ready-to-play rig.
 
The bonus preset is specifically for TONEX Board and is simply an additional extra — the complete collection of 16 Tone Models can be used normally without TONEX Board.
