Overview
The JS Vintage 2203 Ultimate and DI v2.0 Tone Model Collection is based on Jason’s vintage 1981 Marshall JCM 800 Model 2203 head — one of the most iconic amplifiers ever built. Known for its unmistakable midrange bite, percussive attack, and dynamic response, the 2203 helped define the sound of an era and remains a benchmark for authentic British tone.
 
This expanded v2.0 collection includes 21 Tone Models, meticulously captured through two classic speaker configurations — the amp’s original matching 4×12 Rola Celestion G12-65 cabinet and a 2×12 Celestion G12H-75 Creamback cabinet — along with DI (amp-only) versions for complete flexibility.
 
The result is a powerful and expressive set of tones that range from articulate crunch and bold cleans to the unmistakable JCM 800 growl — all with the realism and dynamic feel of the original amplifier.

Tone Models in this collection follow the format:

Where:
x = Gain knob position (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10)
H = High input
L = Low input
 
Examples:

JS Vintage 2203 10H v2 → High input, Gain 10
JS Vintage 2203 10L v2 → Low input, Gain 10
 
Input Gain Reference
Captured at 0 dBu = –11 dBFS, equivalent to running the ToneX Pedal at –3 dB Global Input Trim.
 
DI Tone Models
The included DI Tone Models are true amp-only captures with no cabinet baked in.
Each preset includes a starting IR of the 2×12 Celestion G12H-75 Creamback for convenience.
When using with a real guitar cabinet, simply remove the IR or turn off the cab block in ToneX or your chosen host platform.
