The JS Cheef-Tan Ultimate and DI v2.0 Tone Model Collection is based on the revered Matchless Chieftain, a Class A masterpiece known for its complex harmonics, rich mids, and chime-laden cleans that bloom into buttery overdrive.

Powered by EL34s and built with boutique precision, the Chieftain has long been celebrated for its dynamic response and ability to sit perfectly in a mix.
 
Captured using the ToneX v2.0 engine, this expanded collection includes 24 Tone Models — 12 Amp+Cab captures through the amp’s built-in 1×12 Celestion G12H-75 Creamback, and 12 DI (amp-only) captures featuring a preset-level baked-in IR of a 2×12 G12H-75 Creamback-loaded cabinet.

The result is a faithful recreation of the Chieftain’s signature tone — warm, three-dimensional, and endlessly expressive.
