NAM A2 — JS Vintage High Watt 504EH Ultimate and DI Collection
A Vintage 1981 DR-504 Captured for NAM A2
 
The JS Vintage High Watt 504EH Ultimate and DI Collection brings my 1981 Hiwatt DR-504 with the Canadian modification to the Neural Amp Modeler A2 platform.
 
This is a fantastic example of the huge, powerful sound these vintage British amplifiers are known for — incredible punch, clarity, headroom and dynamic response — with the Canadian modification providing additional drive and aggression when the amp is pushed.
 
For the amp + cab models, I paired the DR-504 with a Celestion Heritage Greenback 20-watt speaker. Its distinctive Greenback character is a fantastic complement to the size and authority of the amplifier and is an important part of the sound of these captures.

Both the Bright and Normal channels were captured at four different gain levels and supplied in both amp + cab and DI formats:
 
8 Amp + Cab A2 Models — captured through the Celestion Heritage Greenback 20-watt speaker
8 DI / Amp-Only A2 Models
4 gain levels for the Bright channel
4 gain levels for the Normal channel
 
The collection moves from articulate lower-gain sounds through increasingly driven tones, allowing you to explore the character and response of both channels of this unique vintage DR-504.
 
Ultimate + DI Flexibility
Use the amp + cab models for the complete captured sound of the DR-504 and Heritage Greenback 20, or use the DI models when you want the flexibility of pairing the amplifier with another cabinet.
 
A separate impulse response is included for use with the DI / Amp-Only models.
