N.A.M – Vintage ’63 PrinceTone Ultimate
The Vintage ’63 PrinceTone Ultimate for Neural Amp Modeler (N.A.M.) is based on an all-original 1963 Fender Princeton Tuxedo (6G2)—a refined Brownface-era amplifier prized for its clarity, immediacy, and harmonically rich breakup.
Despite its compact format, the Princeton Tuxedo delivers remarkable dynamic range and touch sensitivity, moving effortlessly from articulate cleans into warm, expressive overdrive as the volume control is advanced. Its fast transient response and natural compression make it especially responsive to pick attack and guitar volume adjustments.
As part of the JS Vintage Series, this collection takes a deliberately detailed approach. Each meaningful volume setting—from 4 through 10—was captured individually using both inputs, preserving the subtle but musically important changes that occur as this rare amplifier is pushed harder. This method prioritizes realism and historical accuracy over convenience.
The Amp+Cab captures reflect the sound of the Princeton through its original 10-inch CTS speaker, preserving the focused low end, open midrange, and smooth top end that define the Tuxedo Princeton sound. The included DI (amp-only) captures provide true amp models for use with external speaker simulation. A custom IR derived from the original CTS speaker is included as a separate file for optional use.
