This Tone Model Collection captures the dynamic and harmonically rich tone of an amp based on the Matchless Chieftain — a boutique favorite celebrated for its bold cleans, complex breakup, and smooth overdrive.
 
The collection features tone models captured through the Chieftain combo’s original 12” Celestion G12H-75 Creamback speaker, mic’d with a Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon mic into a Cranborne Camden 500 preamp to preserve the amp’s natural warmth and clarity.
 
Alongside the Amp+Cab Tone Models, the bundle also includes Direct (amp-only) captures, allowing you to pair the amp’s pure sound with your preferred IRs or real-world speaker cabinets.

📌 Example: JS Cheef-Tan Push 2 H
Gain Stage (xxxx):
Clean – Amp set for maximum clean headroom
Push 1 – Light breakup, dynamic touch response
Push 2 – Higher gain than Push 1, more drive
Push 3 – Highest natural gain from the amplifier
Level (x):
Denotes the relative gain setting within each stage.
Input (L or H):
L = Captured using the Low input (smoother, softer attack)
H = Captured using the High input (hotter, more immediate signal)
