A COPY OF THE TONEX SOFTWARE IS REQUIRED TO USE THESE PRESETS
This tone model bundle is a collection of tones based of off Channel 1 of a Mesa/Boogie Mark V tube amplifier. This bundle is a set of captures based off my favorite settings on this channel of the amp, meticulously captured through the combos built in Mesa Black Shadow (Celestion Custom 90) speaker.
This bundles tone models model an array of different Channel 1 settings. The bundle includes 10 tone models (amp > mic(s) > mic pre(s)) all at various gain levels and settings through the previously mentioned speaker.
The naming convention for the tone presets are, for example, as follows:
JS – Cali V Ult xxxx x (N or B)
The “xxxx” represents which preamp voice was used, Clean, Fat or Tweed. The “N” signifies Normal mode while “B” signifies the “Bold” mode. The “x” in the above naming convention represents the Gain level:
- 1 – Amp set to a Clean tone.
- 2 – This is a pushed to breakup amp tone depending on the guitar used. It can also stay quite clean with single coil pickups.
- 3 – This is a higher gain tone model in comparison to 2.
The microphones (Beyer Dynamic M160 & Lewitt Audio MTP 440 DM) were recorded into a Golden Age Project Pre-573 Neve style mic-pre and a Cranborne Audio Camden 500 mic preamp dialed in to get just the right tone.
Feel free to use these captures and presets as starting points to dial in your own tones or use them as dialed in by default.
