Born in Timmins, Ontario,
Canada, Jason began playing guitar at age 10. Over the next
few years he practiced between 2 and 6 hours a day, until at
age 16 he began teaching guitar at a local music store. This
eventually blossomed into having a consistent roster of
between 60-70 students on a weekly basis, not leaving enough
hours in the week to keep up with the demand for lessons he
was receiving.
Jason also filled his time
with producing local artists at Garagemahal, a recording
studio set up by himself and his partner and bandmate Rob
Knox. Over the span of four years they worked with many
talented local and Canadian artists.
Jason also spent 10 years
recording and playing with Compass Rose, a Timmins band who
had great local success with their debut CD 'Made of Stone'.
Along with his bandmates Rob Knox, Paul Colameco and Kevin
McMahon they played numerous sold-out shows around Northern
Ontario. The second Compass Rose CD 'Tennessee' is currently
being completed and scheduled for release around November
2005.
At present, Jason is
relocating to Miami, Florida where he will spend his time
promoting his new solo CD 'Orbit', which is to be released
in October 2005. The CD is a melodic instrumental guitar
album in the vain of Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai...among
others. The album is centered around solid songwriting with
a great balance between melody and technical playing. For
fans of instrumental guitar based music, 'Orbit'
is a must have!
